LIC of India ADO recruitment 2012-13 online application form for 5201 vacancies and important dates

LIC of India recruitment 2012-13 Apprentice Development Officers (ADOs) notification has been issued to fill up 5201 vacancies for various zones across India. Online registration for LIC of India Apprentice Development Officers (ADO) recruitment 2012-13 has begun. Life Insurance Corporation of India invites online applications from eligible candidates for the post of Apprentice Development Officers for recruitment in various Divisional Offices under various Zones across India. A total of 5201 vacancies available for which the breakup of zone-wise vacancy list is as follows.
  1. LIC of India ADO vacancies in Central Zone - 349 vacancies. (UR 170, OBC 44, SC 50, ST 85)

  2. LIC of India ADO vacancies in East Central Zone - 564 vacancies (UR 277, OBC 100, SC 70, ST 117)

LIC of India ADO recruitment 2012 eligibility and pay scale details


LIC of India ADO Salary: As an Apprentice Development Officer you will be paid a stipend of 19165 per month. On appointment of Probationary Development Officer you will be fixed on a pay scale of 11535-28864 with admissible allowances. The approximate total emoluments will be 22065 along with other admissible allowances.

LIC of India ADO educational qualification: The candidate should have Bachelors Degree from University in India established under a statute or a foreign university approved for the purpose or the Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai. Candidates who have done MBA in Marketing or PG Diploma in Marketing from University of India or approved by AICTE or recognized Institution are preferred.

LIC of India ADO age limit: The candidates who wish to apply for LIC ADO recruitment should be in the age group between 21 to 30 years as on 01.11.2012. 

However the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and as per rules as mentioned in the official notification.

LIC of India ADO experience required: For LIC employees in Urban and Rural areas should have 3 years of experience after confirmation in Class III post.

For LIC agents in Urban areas should have 5 years of experience and for Rural areas 4 years of experience.

For others - Preference will be given for candidates who have 2 years of experience in Life Insurance industry.

Selection procedure for LIC of India for Apprentice Development Officer vacancies


Candidates will be selected based on online test followed by interview. Only qualified candidates in the online test will be called for interview process. The shortlisted candidates of LIC ADO will be initially put on training on Theoretical & Field Sales and on completion of training will be absorbed as Development Officer on probation basis.

LIC Apprentice Development Officer exam syllabus and pattern


The exam for LIC ADO will be of objective type multiple choice questions which consists of two papers. The time duration given to complete LIC ADO online test is two hours. The likely online test dates for LIC ADO is 02.02.2013 and 03.02.2013.

The syllabus for LIC ADO is as follows.

Paper I - Test of Reasoning and Numerical Ability
Paper II - General Knowledge, Current Affairs and English Language with special emphasis on Grammar and Vocabulary.

LIC of India ADO recruitment online application form, fees and procedure to apply


Application fees: Candidates need to pay 500 by the way of cash, deposited in any State Bank of India branches through the system generated challan form. Candidates can pay the fees from the 2nd working day after their online registration of application form.

How to apply: Eligible interested candidates need to fill the online application form for LIC of India ADO recruitment for which the website link is given at the end of this article. Candidates can apply for only one division only. After submitting the form online, candidates have to make payment as said above. After two working days from the date of fee payment, candidates will get confirmation of registration by SMS/Email. So candidates are requested to give correct mobile number and email id while filling up the form.


Candidates can use the re-print option after three days of fee payment to get the application form with fee payment details and keep it for future reference. Candidates can obtain call letter for LIC ADO exam 2012 from 20.01.2013 onwards.
