Educational qualification: To become eligible, you should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Maths & Physics and have taken at least any one of the following subjects Chemistry / Biology/Computer Science.
Pay scale: During initial training period, you will get a stipend of Rs. 5700 and on successful completion of training will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade pay of Rs. 2000 plus MSP of Rs. 2000 along with DA. During your training period you will be provided with books, reading materials, uniform, food and accommodation at free of cost and you are also entitled for medical treatment, LTC and other admissible allowances.
Selection is based on your performance on Written test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and through medical examination.
The written test will be of objective type multiple choice questions (MCQ) and the question paper consists of four sections, English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The question paper for Indian Navy Sailor exam will be set in Hindi and English and the standard will be that of 10+2 syllabus. You need to complete the exam in one hour duration.
Physical Fitness Test: 1.6 km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups and 10 push-ups.
Medical Fitness: Height should be 157 cms. Weight and chest should be proportionate. Chest expansion 5 cms. Should be in good health free from any diseases and Medical standard should be as per norms.
